Your home really can be a love story to you...
Is this you?Have you been longing for a space of your own, one that feeds your soul, a sacred space, fresh and alive and just-right?
Do you yearn for a purely creative grown-up play space, or a quiet room for yoga, journaling, meditating, music, reading, unplugging—or some other 'just-for-you endeavor(s). But... perhaps you might feel unclear about how to create it, or overwhelmed by the details, without a strategy for taking those first steps and seeing it through to completion. Or you may already have a space, but it's simply not working for you... because of clutter, or layout, or the vibe...or because it's more a reflection of who you used to be rather than who you are—and who you are on your way to becoming. Knowing what moves you and opens your heart is a very powerful awareness. Transposing it into the environment—so that your environment can then feed it back to you—guarantees spiritual nutritionFor some of you, it’s a highly organized space. For another, it’s loving placement of objects that remind your Soul of what peace looks like. For someone else, it could be rich, happy colors and sensuous fabrics. For others of you, it could be flourishing plants and flowers that represent abundance, bringing you to a place of appreciation and allowing.

Rave Reviews
And in the space of a few weeks, I’ve completely transformed our kitchen into something even better than I’d imagined.
I love to cook and create recipes, so I took one whole wall and filled it with cookbooks and recipe binders. Another wall, I painted with chalkboard paint. Here, my 4-year-old daughter can draw below me while I dream up menus and recipes above, along with inspirational quotes and happy messages for my family. This is now a creative space that everyone in our home is drawn to and it's so fun! |
Even with my own extensive background in feng shui and knowledge of the power of energy and intention, I held myself back when it came to making changes, needing to 'figure it all out' first, hesitating to take the first step before I had the whole plan ready to go. Claire showed me how to be more free-spirited and daring; to be more organic in my approach, letting one thing lead to the next, and to have FUN with it.
If that new attitude merely applied to re-energizing my space that would be fine, but I now find myself applying this philosophy to other areas of my life as well. That, to me, is the true power of wisdom well-taught. Michelle Hess Wind Horse Gallery Mount Horeb, WI |

Wishing on A Room of Your Own?
Are you...
A Fabric Artist or Sewist?
Do you need to carve your room from within a bigger family space or do you have the luxury of playing with fabric in a dedicated space that has four walls, windows and a door that may be opened or closed? What are your needs and desires in each case? A design wall? A pressing station? A dress form? A big wall mirror? A giant work table? A Painter?
What does your dream creative space look like and what are the necessary ingredients? A huge, sturdy counter-height work surface? An easel? A tiered rolling cart? Bins and containers for art supplies? A chalkboard wall or huge bulletin board? Lots of light? |
A Writer?
A comfy chair or a writing desk? A view? A fireplace or burbling water fountain? A big flip chart or white board? A Cook?
Would you love an inviting kitchen where you're free to create and explore, make a glorious mess, develop recipes, and not have others' underfoot. Perhaps you want a space for writing a food blog or a cookbook. What would be the needs of that space? A Knitter?
Is your chair as comfy as you'd like? Do you like to be tucked away, or nearer to the household action? Do you need a stereo or a TV with a DVD player? Do you have everything you need at hand? |
A Yogini or Meditator?
Yoga mat, props, zabuton cushions, yes of course, but how about hardwood versus a rug? A personal altar? Live plants? A Jewelry Maker?
How about a cockpit work station with everything within arm's reach? A Gardener?
How about a garden design and planning center? A place to start seeds? A library of reference materials? A Multi-Passionate?
Perhaps you'd most love a room (or rooms) that room can be as elastic and malleable as you are! . |
