Your home really can be a love story to you...

A 7-Week Live, Experiential
& Interactive eCourse

Course begins October 1, 2013

If you’re unclear about how to create a space of your very own that feeds your soul, this course is for you

Is this you?

Have you been longing for a space of your own, one that feeds your soul, a sacred space, fresh and alive and just-right?

Do you yearn for a purely creative grown-up play space, or a quiet room for yoga, journaling, meditating, music, reading, unplugging—or some other 'just-for-you endeavor(s).

But... perhaps you might feel unclear about how to create it, or overwhelmed by the details, without a strategy for taking those first steps and seeing it through to completion.

Or you may already have a space, but it's simply not working for you... because of clutter, or layout, or the vibe...or because it's more a reflection of who you used to be rather than who you are—and who you are on your way to becoming.

You have this sense that your home
could be a love story...

you  +  your sweet space  =  oh so happy!

If so, this e-course is all about helping you create this sweetened space for yourself, and systematically moving through the inner and outer blocks to manifesting it.
Picture
It'll be an organic right-brain process, as opposed to a left-brain 'figuring-it-out' approach. You may not finish creating your room by the end of the class, but if you're ready to dive in, it will be a hands-on process. Or you may simply be looking for inspiration to put into your slow-cooker. Either way, there's room for you.
A Room of Your Own integrates those parts of you that make you who you are... your creative, multi-passionate, sensitive self, your personality, your essence, your loves and preferences.
If you like, you can post your 'Before-During-After' photos, and you'll see others' photos and hear what other participants are doing and how they're going about their own process.

If this sounds like fun to you, you're invited to come together with a group of warm, open, like-minded folks to get support and tools for completely immersing yourself in transforming one space. Let's go, shall we?

Don't you think it's time for A Room of Your Own?

"So much do I love this place… delight overpowers me from head to foot, and peace smiles even in the marrow of my bones."
Thomas Merton

From a participant:
"It's not just about making our spaces 'look' nicer, rather it's more about making them 'feel' better, along with ourselves as we live and play in our spaces. I look forward to hearing that part of each of our adventures.

It's like hearing each other's love stories -- falling more deeply in love with our special, unique spaces and falling more in love with ourselves as a result.  Ooh la la!"

Here's what you'll learn:

  • How to claim the space and what to do with any feelings of fear or guilt that may arise
  • How to create a design journal for ideas, to track the process with photos, even have conversations with your room to learn what it wants
  • What are the colors, textures and patterns that will make your heart sing
  • How to clear and bless your space in a way that's in alignment with your own beliefs and values
  • How to know what to surround yourself with
  • How this space can be yours alone; how to create parameters and healthy boundaries that work for everyone in your home to give you the sanctuary you need
  • Uncover whether you're fed more by neatness or creative messes, or a combo
  • How to tune into and clarify what wants to happen in your space
  • How to connect to nature even when indoors
  • The importance of a personal altar—and how to design it
  • How to work with any physical challenges in your space
  • Fail-proof steps for plugging into your innate creativity

Knowing what moves you and opens your heart is a very powerful awareness. Transposing it into the environment—so that your environment can then feed it back to you—guarantees spiritual nutrition

For some of you, it’s a highly organized space. For another, it’s loving placement of objects that remind your Soul of what peace looks like. For someone else, it could be rich, happy colors and sensuous fabrics. For others of you, it could be flourishing plants and flowers that represent abundance, bringing you to a place of appreciation and allowing.

We’ll play with & explore these topics:

  • Visualizing a game plan for your space, using optional online space planning tools
  • Releasing your natural resistance to getting started
  • Letting go of overwhelm
  • Practical how-tos for re-purposing and re-painting furniture
  • Creating momentum for staying with the whole process of claiming a room of your own
  • Harnessing your natural love for beauty and harmony—and using it as fuel for the journey
  • Creating a daily habit of opening to the flow of joy and well-being, using our environments as the catalyst
  • Making room for what really matters
  • Growing your ability to hear your own intuition—and acting on it freely
  • Envisioning what the finished space will look—and, more importantly, feel like
  • Dropping the knife of the Inner Critic and feeling the relief of releasing the grip of energy-sapping self-judgment
  • Replacing the adrenaline of chaos with the endorphins of true, sustainable well-being
  • Being fully present in the moment, pleasure by pleasure

"Ever since reading The Secret Garden when I was a little girl, I have always wanted a space that was all mine. A space that maybe didn’t function as anything other than a retreat and a place to imagine and dream."

Rave Reviews

"I’ve been inspired by all of of these ideas and projects!

And I finally got a great “cosmic download” as Claire would say, about my kitchen—I’ve been waiting for it for 5 years!
And in the space of a few weeks, I’ve completely transformed our kitchen into something even better than I’d imagined.

I love to cook and create recipes, so I took one whole wall and filled it with cookbooks and recipe binders.

Another wall, I painted with chalkboard paint. Here, my 4-year-old daughter can draw below me while I dream up menus and recipes above, along with inspirational quotes and happy messages for my family.

This is now a creative space that everyone in our home is drawn to and it's so fun!

"Working with the material in this course, I was inspired to recreate our master bedroom with color and accessories that to this day gives my husband and me joy every time we look at it.

But the true benefit for me is not the new look, rather it’s the lessons I learned in the process.
Even with my own extensive background in feng shui and knowledge of the power of energy and intention, I held myself back when it came to making changes, needing to 'figure it all out' first, hesitating to take the first step before I had the whole plan ready to go. Claire showed me how to be more free-spirited and daring; to be more organic in my approach, letting one thing lead to the next, and to have FUN with it.

If that new attitude merely applied to re-energizing my space that would be fine, but I now find myself applying this philosophy to other areas of my life as well. That, to me, is the true power of wisdom well-taught.

Wishing on A Room of Your Own?

Are you...

A Fabric Artist or Sewist?
Do you need to carve your room from within a bigger family space or do you have the luxury of playing with fabric in a dedicated space that has four walls, windows and a door that may be opened or closed? What are your needs and desires in each case? A design wall? A pressing station? A dress form? A big wall mirror? A giant work table?
A Painter?
What does your dream creative space look like and what are the necessary ingredients? A huge, sturdy counter-height work surface? An easel? A tiered rolling cart? Bins and containers for art supplies? A chalkboard wall or huge bulletin board? Lots of light?
A Writer?
A comfy chair or a writing desk? A view? A fireplace or burbling water fountain? A big flip chart or white board?
A Cook?
Would you love an inviting kitchen where you're free to create and explore, make a glorious mess, develop recipes, and not have others' underfoot. Perhaps you want a space for writing a food blog or a cookbook. What would be the needs of that space?
A Knitter?
Is your chair as comfy as you'd like? Do you like to be tucked away, or nearer to the household action? Do you need a stereo or a TV with a DVD player? Do you have everything you need at hand?
A Yogini or Meditator?
Yoga mat, props, zabuton cushions, yes of course, but how about hardwood versus a rug? A personal altar? Live plants?
A Jewelry Maker?
How about a cockpit work station with everything within arm's reach?
A Gardener?
How about a garden design and planning center? A place to start seeds? A library of reference materials?
A Multi-Passionate?
Perhaps you'd most love a room (or rooms) that room can be as elastic and malleable as you are!
